The Olde Church Acoustic Series is a celebration of music created and performed by Connecticut’s finest singers and songwriters. The original series, known as the “Old Church Concert Series,” was founded by Mike Wilcox in 2016 in Rocky Hill, CT. Shows were hosted at the United Methodist Church and provided both an intimate setting and outstanding acoustics.
With Mike’s blessing, in February of 2020, the series moved to its “new” old church – the historic First Church of Meriden, CT – a facility that provides inspirational architecture, excellent acoustics and even a Steinway piano. And with the move to Meriden, we re-christened the series the Olde Church Acoustic Series. We are pleased Mike’s tradition will continue and the response has been wonderful and supportive.
As in Rocky Hill, the Meriden series features not only great music, but also delicious, reasonably priced “home cooking” from the church’s full kitchen. Admission to the shows is by donation – whatever you can afford. First Church is only steps from the Meriden train station and also offers plenty of convenient parking.
Special thanks to Telefunken, and Connecticut’s supportive radio stations like WESU, WWUH, WHUS and Internet radio Cygnus Radio and ICRV Radio, and all our generous sponsors.
